Magical aims to inspire festival-goers to become their best selves through play, and counteract the challenges to well-being caused by increasingly high economic and societal demands.
Magical Productions announced the launch of its 3-day boutique festival, Magical, which will take place on 17-20 August 2018 in Sussex. The company, founded by a quirky group of five experienced festival-goers with a passion for music, positive thinking and inspiring others, aims to promote the importance of being comfortable in your own skin, connecting with others and - above all else - celebrating life.
With many people seeking fulfilment in their lives while simultaneously trying to live up to increasingly high expectations and demands, Magical encourages its guests to embrace their unique quirks and qualities and express themselves freely.
“Our aim is to empower people to fulfil their potential, for their own happiness and the greater good of everyone. All while having shed-loads of festival fun, trying out alternative activities and dancing day and night,” says Magical Director Zoë Nattress.
Set lakeside in the beautiful woodland fields of West Sussex (just an hour away from London), Magical will offer a true sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, complete with a diverse mix of interactive workshops, uplifting music performances, informative talks, art installations, hands-on craft activities and dance classes.
“The festivals and cultural events industry is worth a staggering £1.1 billion in the UK, but there are still huge divides within the market,” Zoë adds. “Our mission is to bridge the gap between partying festivals and festivals centred around self-improvement, so that people can escape the city and have a fantastic time with friends, packaged in an experience that is ultimately aimed to improve their lives.”
With a recent study showing that only 3 in 10 people are “happy with their lives” and the self-improvement industry worth a staggering $11 billion in the US alone, the feeling of falling short of expectations is a significant issue.
“Every advert ever created was specifically designed to make you think your life is worse without their product! Must read that book, be a better friend, better partner, get a new phone, new car, nicer clothes, bigger house, etc.” explains the Magical Director. “We think people are perfect just the way they are and we’ve noticed that the festival experience - when done right - offers the perfect setting to realise just that.”
Festival fans can club together via the Magical Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign starting 20 Aug 2017 to make Magical Production’s vision a reality.
Backers of the festival will receive discounted tickets to Magical 2018 as well as other special rewards such as boutique camping, a festi-limo tour around the site, a personalised festival flag and prime position in the Magical Mermaid Parade. The discounted ticket price of £80 gives backers full access to the 3-day festival, including camping and all activities, workshops, music and experiences.
To celebrate the launch of Magical and the crowdfunding campaign, Magical Productions is holding a day-long mini-festival launch party at The Brewhouse (369-370 Helmsley Place, London E8 3SB) on 20 August 2017, headlined by beatboxing star, THePETEBOX.
